Marvin

This spot has been around for what feels like forever, but it’s one of my favourite places in LA for a chilled dinner with friends, or low key date night. Always sit at the bar and ALWAYS order the salami, burrata and honey toast. Every single thing on the menu is amazing, you literally can’t go wrong! The steak frite always hits and the frisee with lardon is just divine. The wine list is also incredible with wines from mainly France and Italy - both conventional and natural wine.

Found Oyster

Hyped for good reason! And I even love waiting in line for a table - something about being able to have a glass of wine on the benches outside with a friend while you wait, makes the experiance more fun for me! I literally go to sleep thinking about the Sicilain crudo, but they always have stunning specials on depending on what is in season and the staff are so lovely, every single time. I just love this place so much!

Gra

Best pizza spot in LA, imo! It’s so low key and doesnt get talked about half as much as it should. Their sourdough pizza is perfectly chewy, with a crispy crust. The Banger is my go-to! It has a tomato base with mozzarella, salami, house ‘nduja, honey & basil but the fermented mustard seeds send it into the stratasphere - sooooo good! However, the real sleeper hits are all of their incredible sides. Always seasonal, always sensational! It has cosy vibes in the fall and fun balmy vibes in the summer. There is always someone spinning records and the natural wine list is one of the best in the city.

Cafe Triste

Maybe I love this place because it reminds me of somewhere in London, Barcelona or France but the vibes are always immaculate. The menu is classic small plates but they are doing something a little diffrent and more interesting, from what I can gauge. The food is european adjacent fair - hearty terrines with cornichons, and buttery galletes with a bitter leaf salad - something similar to what you would perhaps find at Cafe Deco or Rochelle Canteen in London. I just love it! And then there is the wine! Absolute best wine selection is all of LA for me, and the staff are always really helpful when you tell them exactly what you feel like drinking or they are happy to surprise you too! The fact that they have such interesting natural wines at such an affordable price point still amazes me! The best!

Gjusta Bakery

My husband and I drive over to the Westside most Saturdays as a ritual and always get breakfast / brunch at Gjusta. We have always lived East and the ritual is engrained, but mainly because the food really is that good! The bread is sensational and all the deli bits never cease to amaze. Everything is fresh, made that day, farmers market driven and hyper local. Do not skip on the brisket bahn mi - it is insanely good! My friend Nicole Rucker put it on the menu when she worked there years ago and it’s never left, it’s that good! The daily seasonal shrubs are divine too - drinking vinegars are my roman empire!
